Tuition Terms & Conditions

Your child’s weekly lesson slot with Learning Buddy Tutoring is reserved for them, and every lesson is planned to meet their individual needs.

By attending the first lesson you agree to the following:

Lessons cancelled by parents/carers with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged.

Should you wish to end your child’s lessons, one months’ notice will be required. Lessons cancelled or not attended within this notice period will be charged.

If I am unable to deliver your child’s lesson for any reason, then I will give as much notice as possible and it will be rescheduled.

Payment is due at the end of each lesson; payment details will be provided.
(Lesson fee includes the delivered agreed lesson time, learning resources, my planning and travel costs. Additional costs will only be incurred if your child requires specific additional resources to meet their needs, but this would be discussed in advance).

Group lessons: To secure the dates for a block of group lessons, payment is required in advance.

My aim is to support your child’s learning journey, however, please do bear in mind that I cannot be held responsible for your child’s grades or learning outcomes.
Learning Buddy Tutoring reserves the right to make changes to these terms and conditions and will inform clients of any updates.
GDPR and Privacy Policy
This policy outlines how Learning Buddy Tutoring will collect, store, and use your
personal data.
Photo and video consent
- I may occasionally take photographs of your child’s learning activities to use in
printed or online publicity, but this would always be with your (parents/carers)
and your child’s prior consent.
- I will not include your child’s name and the photographs will not show your
child’s face or any other identifying features, such as a uniform logo.
Collection and use of personal data
The personal data collected by Learning Buddy Tutoring, will only be used for the
following reasons:
- To ensure that each tutoring session is conducted in a safe environment,
meeting the child’s needs.
- To provide parents/carers with feedback relating to their child’s learning.
- To record your child’s learning session, initials or first name only are used.
- To contact you as parents/carers.
Protecting your data
- Your data will be stored securely on my computer with strong password
authentication and passwords are changed periodically.
- I record your child’s learning in paper files; however, this does not contain any
personal information and only their initials are used. When not in use, all paper
documents are locked away securely.
- I will not share or discuss your data or your child’s learning with anyone else. My
accountant may access documents which may display a client’s name. Where any
of your data is required for such a purpose, all reasonable steps will be taken to
ensure your data is handled safely, securely, and in accordance with your rights,
our obligations, and the obligations of the third party under the law.
- My computer has the required security and firewalls in place; however, I cannot
guarantee that transmission of data over the internet is completely secure,
either as an email, enquiry form, phone call or other communication.
Consent
When providing information to Learning Buddy Tutoring, you are agreeing that I can
use the data to meet the needs of the tutee and to communicate with you. Your
personal data is deleted when tutoring services cease.
By sending your child to their first tutoring session with Learning Buddy Tutoring,
you are accepting and agreeing to these policies and conditions.
Your data protection rights.
It is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and
current.
Under Data Protection Law, you have the right to:

To ensure the safety and welfare of the tutees I work with, their families and myself
as the tutor, I hold a DBS certificate and am registered on the update service. I have
completed child protection training, and this is kept up to date as required.
To safeguard those I work with, any information shared with me by the tutee may be
shared confidentially with appropriate authorities when needed.
The data which may be collected and stored by Learning Buddy Tutoring, includes
parent/carer full name and address, parent carer email address, parent/carer contact
phone number, 2nd emergency contact details including name, phone number and
relationship to child, child’s full name, child’s school year group, subjects to be taught,
the child’s learning development needs, if the child has any allergies or requires
medication. In addition to this, any information the parent/carer deems necessary.
